Growth Group Questions | Week of March 11, 2012

Here are this week’s Growth Group questions based on Mark 2:23-28. And remember, if you were not able to be in the service on Sunday, you can listen to the sermon at the Immanuel Bible Church website.

Striving with you to “grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ” (2 Peter 3:18).

  • In what ways do we treat Jesus like a labradoodle? (i.e., a theological pet)
  • Traditions can be both good and bad. What makes a tradition good? Bad? How do our traditions sometimes lead to “making void the word of God”? (cf., Mark 7:6-13)
  • Why was Jesus’ rebuke “merciful”? If the Pharisees questioned Jesus sinfully, how can we bring questions to God in a way that is not sinful?
  • Why did God create the Sabbath? What is it intended to do? (cf., Exodus 20:8-11Heb. 4:1-10)
